How do tournaments on smash.gg work?
Please visit the smash website to better understand how to use smash.gg. Our tournaments structure is as follows: Best of 3 (BO3) for the winner's bracket matches, BO1 for the loser's bracket matches, and BO5 for the grand finals. For 3v3 tournaments, the tournament is double elimination which means a bracket reset is included if the loser's final winner beats the winner's final winner.
Which platforms are allowed to compete in the tournaments?
We allow the four main platforms that have the ability to play Rocket League: PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch. Every player is expected to turn on cross platform when competing in WOR events to ensure that there are no errors when playing against another team.
Is there a prize pool for the tournament?
Our 1v1 tournaments will have a $25 prize pool and our 3v3 tournaments will soon have prize pools once OkLetsPlay expands to 2v2s and 3v3s on their platform. All tournaments include a role in the discord as well.
What time does the tournament start?
All events start at 7:00 PM EDT. There may be exceptions, but changes to times will be announced. Please be sure to check in once the tournament starts so there aren't any delays for other players, especially if your match is planned to be streamed on the WOR twitch.
What time does registration end?
All event registration periods end 30 minutes before the tournament start time. Some tournaments will have a differing registration period cut off. Please look at our announcements/tournament posts for any changes to the registration cut off.
Where do I ask for help for tournaments or matches?
Please ping a @Tournament Moderator in the #general channel and a moderator will assist you promptly. Please do not resort to direct messaging any staff member.
Does my entire team have to sign up?
Everyone is required to sign up on smash.gg and join the WOR Discord prior to the registration cut off time. Failure to do so will result in not being able to play in the tournament.
How do I check in?
To check in, please locate the "Brackets" section once brackets are released (An announcement will be made). Once there, click on the match card your username/team name is located in. From there, click on the green or blue check-in button. Instructions will follow for match creation and anything else that is needed to be done.
How do I create a lobby?
Once you have checked-in on smash.gg, the site will tell you if you if you are responsible for making a lobby (orange team always makes the lobby). If you are responsible, then you are required to make the game lobby using the information provided by smash.gg. To do so you must make a private match with the given credentials using an allowed map and the US-East Server. Please note, you may have to enable cross-platform play if going against a player on console.
How do I report my scores?
After playing a game, in Tasks you will either report the score and have it confirmed by your opponent or verify your opponent's inputted scores. This goes on until you've completed your match, then both players must confirm the final match scores. If you have any issues, please contact a Tournament Mod.
Can we spectate other matches?
Players who are not playing a match are not permitted to spectate. Staff reserve the right to spectate matches.
What do I do if the other team is breaking the rules?
Please contact a tournament moderator or discord moderator and they will deal with it accordingly. Do not try to resolve the issue by yourself and certainly do not try and cause more conflict than there already is. If a staff member does not respond, then please send them a private message with the rule breaker's username, rule they broke, and any proof. |
