ELIGIBILITY
ENTRY
There is no age limitation other than the game age limitation. All regions and platforms (PC/PS4/Xbox One/Switch) are allowed to compete. In order to register for a 3v3 tournament or league, teams must consist of at least three players and a maximum of 4 players: three players, and one substitute. All rosters are subject to being edited by tournament/league staff if deemed need be: banned players, ineligible players, etc.
SUBSTITUTIONS/ROSTER CHANGES
Substitutions are not allowed during series/matches and may be only done in-between series (A series is a complete BO1, BO3, BO5, or BO7 set of matches between two different teams). All rosters submitted upon registering on smash.gg for a 3v3 tournament or league will be locked and no alterations can be made once the tournament or league starts. For leagues, only the team manager/team captain can decide to withdraw the team from the league.
SPECTATORS
Spectators are not allowed, which includes but is not limited to: players who are not playing in the current series, team managers/captains, members of the community. Tournament/League staff reserve the right to spectate matches in order to moderate or stream the matches. If anyone who is not playing in the match or who is not staff is found spectating a tournament or league match will receive consequences based on the extent of their spectating.
FORMAT
MAPS
Games will be played on US-East servers unless both teams agree to switch the region the series will be played on. These maps may be used in tournament play, with the standard/day variant. Players may reach a mutual agreement to play on any not listed map (such as Badlands or ARCtagon) if they so wish. If there is any disagreement, the match will default to being played on a standard map that is listed below:
- DFH Stadium
- Urban Central
- Mannfield
- Beckwith Park
- Champions Field
- Utopia Coliseum
GAME SETTINGS
The following game settings will be used in all tournament and league play matches. Deviation from these settings should be reported to a Tournament Moderator or staff member of World Of Rockets so that the match can be reviewed. Staff may decide to either disqualify the player who deviated from the settings or to allow the players to redo the match. Game settings are as listed below:
- Team Size: 3v3
- Mutators: None
- Match Time: 5 minutes
- Default Colors for Blue and Orange Teams
- Rooms must be password protected with the details given by smash.gg or a Tournament Moderator
- US-East region unless agreed to be something different by both sides
CHECK-IN
Check-in will begin at the scheduled start time of a tournament/league qualifier, and it is required of you/your team to check in for each round on smash.gg. To check in, go to your smash.gg dashboard and check into the series on smash. You have 10 minutes to check-in your team/yourself on smash or you will be disqualified, and your opponents would move on to the next round. Please pay attention to smash.gg and the WOR discord so you can stay informed on when brackets are released. If it is found that you are exploiting the check-in timers on smash.gg repeatedly, action may be taken against you and your team. After checking in, you must start your match within 5 minutes or you will be disqualified.
League Specific Formatting will be displayed on the smash.gg qualifier page as well as in the discord league-specific channel.
CONFLICTS
NON-RESPONSIVE OPPONENT
During a tournament or league qualifier, if your opponent(s) is not responding or is not joining the in-game lobby after five (5) minutes have elapsed since they checked into the match on smash.gg, you can either request a moderator on smash.gg, or PM a Tournament Moderator on discord. If we are unable to reach your opponent(s) via discord or smash, we will disqualify your opponent(s) after running a 5-minute timer, moving you to the next round of the tournament/league qualifier. For opponents who have not checked in, we will let the auto-DQ timer on smash.gg run out.
LEAVING / DISCONNECTING
If a player leaves or disconnects during the middle of a game, the game will continue by default. Players may reach an agreement to restart a game in the interest of sportsmanship, on the condition that doing so does not cause a significant delay in the tournament/league. This differs from the “Disputes” section, which details when an entire team leaves at once. If an entire team leaves at once, the match is stopped to initiate a dispute.
DISPUTES
An entire team leaving the match to initiate a dispute stops a series. This rule overrides Section 3 (“Leaving / Disconnecting”), provided that a Moderator, Administrator, or another staff member is brought in to solve the dispute and also the opposing team is alerted during the game of the action you are about to do in the lobby text chat, smash.gg chat window, or in the World Of Rockets discord server. All disputes and/or claims must be immediately communicated to a Tournament Moderator or staff member as soon as an issue is discovered. Failure to do so nullifies all rights and privileges, and action may not be taken by staff members. Playing through a game or series implies consent, so we encourage you to request a Moderator as soon as possible.
CONDUCT
SMURF ACCOUNTS
For the benefit of our stream and for fairness in competition, we ask competitors to not use lower-ranked accounts or “smurfs”, lie about their skill, and/or pretend to be someone else in order to gain more favorable seeding or any sort of advantage in a tournament/league setting. This also goes for those who attempt to face higher-seeded entrants earlier on just to cause a mess of the tournament or league qualifier and unfairly punish those who obeyed this rule. If you do need to be on an alternate account for whatever reason, please let a Tournament Moderator know and why. We’re here to promote a competitive yet friendly environment for all of our competitors and community members, and attempting to deceive tournament organizers (Tournament Moderators, Management, and any other member of staff) is an attempt to ruin that environment. Please be considerate when signing up for our tournaments and leagues.
FALSE INFORMATION
Displaying or entering false information of a tournament or league game or series is not permissible. Denying a win for another team or purposefully halting the tournament or league flow through the abuse of the "dispute scores" feature on smash.gg or any other method is strictly forbidden. We want our tournaments and leagues to flow smoothly and breaking these rules does not help. Please be considerate of the people these acts affect.
TOXICITY
Toxicity is not permitted during or before matches. This is different from "banter", the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks. Toxicity includes but is not limited to repeated spamming of quick chats, clear harassment toward the opponent(s), and hateful speech toward others. This kind of behavior is frowned upon in World Of Rockets due to the fact that we are a community looking to have fun competing, but at the same time gaining experience through the competitions. If toxicity is seen due to the match being streamed, someone reporting toxicity with evidence, or a Tournament Moderator seeing behavior as such, repercussions will follow. It is at the staff member's discretion on which repercussion is to follow and the duration of the repercussion.
